GAP Headquarters Building

Architect: Robert A. M. Stern Architects / Gensler
Contractor: Swinerton & Walberg

A 15-story headquarters building on the San Francisco waterfront. 540,000 sf.

As part of Middlebrook + Louie’s commitment to environmentally- responsible design, the structural specifications for this building include the use of a special concrete with a high concentration of fly ash (a waste by-product of coal combustion). The environmental savings are two-fold: less fly ash is being sent to landfills and carbon dioxide emissions are substantially reduced in the production of high volume fly ash concrete.
