An award-winning rehabilitation of an earthquake-damaged concrete building and addition of two new floors.

The building’s new structural system combines steel brace frames at the building perimeter with strategically placed concrete shear walls. The brace frames feature a unique connection of steel tube braces to concrete shear blocks.

The Structural Engineers Association of California awarded this project their 2003 award for Excellence in Structural Engineering – "Best Use of Conventional Technologies in a Building Retrofit".
