Ronald F. Middlebrook, S.E.
(Retired)

Ron Middlebrook has built at M+L one of the Bay Area’s strongest, most capable structural engineering firms.

During most of the 1970s, Ron worked with the pioneering a/e/c firm of Caudill Rowlett Scott. Ron managed the structural engineering department at the CRS home office in Houston. Later he served as Director of Technology at CRS/New York, where he oversaw engineering design and production, as well as architectural production.

Ron then spent 18 years with the Los Angeles-based Martin Associates Group. He played a leadership role in the Group’s Washington, DC office, before heading to San Francisco in 1983 to head their Bay Area office. In 1994, this office became Middlebrook + Louie.

At M+L, Ron’s projects include several landmark buildings: the Yerba Buena Marriott Hotel, the rooftop and underground expansions of Moscone Center, and San Jose’s Fairmont Hotel.

Ron is a past Director of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC), and a Past President of its Northern body (SEAONC).
